Review quote from Spanish magazine Scherzo for Joshua Bell's recital with pianist Alessio Bax on November 26 of 2014 at the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid: 

[...] It's been a quarter century since Joshua Bell started playing his violin around the world and, according to the vocal nomenclature, in that time he has gone from being a light lyric to a full lyric. His thing, however, has always been singing with a beautiful voice, with admirable frankness, and that lyricism had to flourish on the inspired pentagrams of Schubert's Sonata D.574. In the first of Grieg's Sonatas, Bell and the pianist Alessio Bax, gave us moments, as in the Scherzo, full of a spring and youthful flavor. In the last movement, a bit weaker, it was totally cloaked by the vivid reading of its performers, both with a fine stylistic sense. In Prokofiev's Sonata No.1, it seemed that Bell's articulation was better than ever, frequently facing enigmatic figurations, or very marked notes, nearly a pure hammering that blew up at the second of the fourth movement. To resume: a great personal triumph by Bell, who enchanted all the audience. [...]

This recital was part of Joshua Bell and Alessio Bax tour at USA, Latin America, Asia and Europe in 2014. In Spain they performed in the cities of Alicante and Madrid, playing the Violin sonata "Grand Duo" in A Major, Op.162, D.574 by Schubert, the Sonata Nr.1 in F Major, Op.8 by Grieg, and the Sonata Nr.1 in F minor, Op.80 by Prokofiev.
