Ramón Tebar appointed Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Valencia Orchestra

We are delighted to announce that our Spanish Conductor Ramón Tebar has recently been appointed new Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Valencia Symphony Orchestra. He signed his contract at the Palau de la Musica in Valencia, in the presence of the Councilor of Culture Gloria Tello and the Director of the Palau de la Música Vicent Ros, for a period of 4 years, from 1st September 2017 until 30th August 2021. The orchestra hires the services of Ramón Tebar taking in consideration his artistic curriculum and skills, as well as his experience.

Ramón Tebar also holds positions at the Opera Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia (Principal Guest Conductor since 2015); Florida Grand Opera (Music Director and Principal Conductor since 2010, being the first Spanish conductor to be appointed Music Director of an American opera company); Palm Beach Symphony (Artistic Director since 2007); Opera Naples (Artistic Director since 2014); Santo Domingo Music Festival (from 2009 to 2015).

Highlights for his next season include concerts with Valencia Orchestra, Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana, Navarra Symphony, Málaga Philharmonic, Las Palmas Philharmonic Orchestra and Bucharest Radio Orchestra, in addition to his regular season of concerts with the Palm Beach Symphony in Florida.

In opera Ramón Tebar will make his debut at the Viena Opera with Madama Butterfly by Puccini; he will conduct Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi at the Opera Festival in La Coruña, conducting Galicia Symphony Orchestra, followed by Il Trovatore by Verdi at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo with the Oviedo Filarmonía; return to Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid for 8 performances of El Gato Montés by Penella and the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid; then Don Carlo by Verdi at the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia and L'elisir d'amore by Donizetti at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. As Principal Conductor at Naples Opera (Florida) he will conduct Madama Butterfly by Puccini, L'elisir d'amore by Donizetti and Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart and in Miami, at the Florida Grand Opera, Florencia en el Amazonas by Daniel Catán.
