Conciertos Augusto S.L. has the pleasure to announce the representation for Spain, in Symphonic Repertoire, of the conductor Tim Murray.

Associate Music Director of Cape Town Opera, Principal Conductor of the Salisbury Sinfonia and “Newcomer” finalist in the 2015 International Opera Awards, British conductor Tim Murray made his debut with the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris in 2013 with Weill's Street Scene. He conducted Porgy and Bess at the Liceu Barcelona, at London Coliseum (with the orchestra of Welsh National Opera), at Artscape Theatre Cape Town, at L’Opéra National de Bordeaux in 2014, and recently at the Teatro Real of Madrid in 2015. 

His concert work has included BBC Proms, Philharmonia Orchestra, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Chroma, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Festival of English Music at the Ghent Conservatorium, London Philharmonic Orchestra assisting Vladimir Jurowski and BBC Singers. 

Among his current and future engagements are Gerald Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Porgy and Bess at the Teatro Real, Madrid, The Merry Widow and Carmen at Cape Town Opera, as well as a triple bill with the Royal Ballet, including Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Nyx, in a new ballet by choreographer Wayne McGregor. 

Tim Murray studied at Cambridge University, the Royal College of Music with John Carewe, at the Tanglewood Music Center and with Oliver Knussen at the Britten-Pears School.
