Leif Ove Andsnes wins Recording of the Year top prize at the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2015.

The Norwegian pianist, Leif Ove Andsnes, triumphed at the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2015 celebrated in London on April 7 of 2015. 

With his disc of Beethoven's Piano Concertos No.2 and No.4, Andsnes won both the Concerto and Recording of the Year prizes.

The jury described his performances as a "true heart-and-mind musical journey".

The Norwegian Minister, Thorhild Widvey, presented him with his Concerto Award, while conductor Sir Antonio Pappano awarded him the coveted Recording of the Year prize. Leif Ove Andsnes treated the audience to a performance of two of Beethoven's Bagatelles.

Voted for by the public & BBC Music Magazine's expert jury of critics, Andsnes disc represents the very best of more than 1.500 titles. His award-winning disc was the second in his set of the complete Beethoven piano concertos titled "The Beethoven Journey", as part of his four-year Beethoven Journey concerto project, which has taken him to 108 cities in 27 countries for more than 230 performances.

For the BBC Music Magazine May Edition, Leif Ove Andsnes will be the cover, and it will also include an interview to the pianist.
