Ramón Tebar appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia

Conciertos Augusto S.L. is proud to announce the appointment of spanish conductor Ramón Tebar as Principal Guest Conductor of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia.

The announcement took place on Monday 9th of March of 2015, presented by the new Intendent and Artistic Director Davide Livermore and the Counselor of Culture María José Catalá, who where joined by their new Chief Conductor Roberto Abbado, who will share the job with violinist Fabio Biondi, who intervened by phone.

The appointment of the conductor Ramón Tebar, "the most international valencian conductor", as he is the first spanish to be Music Director of an American Opera Company in the USA, the Florida Grand Opera in Miami, he will conduct one opera production and one symphonic concert every season, "it is not because he is from Valencia, it is because he is a great conductor. I love the fact he is valencian, but it is not the main reason" remarked Davide Livermore, pointing out that his project "with these three magnificent conductors it's to develop at maximum the operistic level with productions of the XVIII and XIX Century, as with the XX Century". María José Catalá considered "a wise decision" that makes her specially happy by the choice of Ramón Tebar "for his quality", and that will allow them to "reach the level of opera and orchestra the County deserves".

Ramón Tebar, who was present by Skype from Santo Domingo, where he is conducting 3 concerts at the Festival, being also their Artistic Director, said the appointment meant a lot to him for being "his operistic debut in Valencia, after 10 years working abroad and the beginning of a fruitful artistic relationship".
