Zandra McMaster with the Vogler Quartett on tour in Spain and Germany, with several premieres by spanish composer Antón García Abril

The mezzo Zandra McMaster with the Vogler Quartett and pianist Michael McHale, will tour in Spain and Germany this month. Offering concerts at the National Hall of Music in Madrid on wednesday 15 and at the University Auditorium of Santiago de Compostela on thursday 16, both concerts for the CNDM, National Center for Musical Diffusion. After the concerts in Spain, they will offer a concert at the Konzerthaus of Berlin on saturday 25 of October, where they will do a live recording of the programme of this tour for an upcoming release on CD.

On this tour they will world premiere the Tres Cantigas for mezzo and piano by spanish composer Antón García Abril, which were dedicated to Zandra McMaster by the composer himself. In Spain and Germany they will premiere the version for mezzo and string quartett of Canciones del Jardín Secreto and Le Temps des Lilas by Ernest Chausson in an adaptation by García Abril for mezzo, quartett and piano; both pieces were commissioned by Zandra McMaster to the composer. The programme also includes works by Barber, Puccini, Ives, Respighi and Debussy.
